Browns Valley homes often sit on hilltops and ridges with wide-open views over the Sacramento Valley. That same open exposure means wind, sun and whatever the seasons bring all land on your solar panels. Here is what to expect through the year, and how we handle it.
What happens to panels in spring?
Grasses and wildflowers cover the hills, and oaks and pines release pollen. Pollen settles on panels and a spring shower can leave streaks.
And summer?
The hills turn gold and dry. Wind carries dust and bits of dry grass and seed onto the array. There is usually little rain to rinse anything off.
What about fall?
Oak leaves start dropping and can catch at the bottom edge of panels and between rows. Dust from the dry season is still there.
Winter?
Rain rinses some loose dust, but dried droppings and grime along the bottom edge often stay put.
Purified water and soft brushes, nothing else. Pure water lifts pollen and dust and dries without spots. Soft brushes take care of droppings and stubborn grime. We clear leaves and loose debris from the array, too. We do not make any claims about output; we focus on clean glass and careful work.
Many Browns Valley properties have long driveways, gates and animals. Let us know about access when you book so we can plan the visit. If you have a ground-mounted array, we clean those as well.
Pair solar cleaning with windows and gutters. Our quarterly plans are the best value and match the way foothill seasons change.
